Hiring a Winning Team

Building a team takes effort and work, and you need to understand your own leadership style. If you don’t understand who you’re hiring and what you’re hiring for, it won’t work well.

Today I’m going to share some tools I use for hiring folks that serve at a very high level.

First, I ask:

  • Are they humble and able to take instruction?

  • Are they smart? Can they think on their feet?

  • Are they hungry? Do they have a deep desire to want more for themselves and their lives?

Every time one of these elements is missing, the hire doesn’t mesh well. I also use the Clifton Strengths Assessment and have for years to help understand what people are best at and make sure they’ll fit in with the strengths we already have.

What are you doing to build up a better version of you? How is that showing up? Seeds that we sow have a visual effect. When you’ve been sowing good seed, you’ll be able to look at the harvest and see the good you’ve been laying down.
